My name is Hannah Hensley, and I teach contemporary dance. I began my journey at age 3 at The Dance Connection, exploring a wide variety of classes. My dedication intensified in middle school when I made the varsity team and started dancing competitively statewide, ultimately becoming captain in 8th grade.
In high school, I attended the Hammond Academy for the Performing Arts, majoring in both Dance and Acting. During this time, I deepened my knowledge of dance history, performance, and technique, while also learning the intricacies of choreography. I continued to compete both statewide and nationally throughout my high school years, serving as Co-Captain in my sophomore year and Captain during my junior and senior years.
After graduating in 2020, I remained involved with my competitive team as an Assistant Coach, continuing to compete and refine my craft through classes, conventions, and seminars. I have always had a strong passion for helping my peers improve in dance and movement. I feel fortunate to share my love for dance and to inspire and motivate young people. I believe that anyone can dance, and I love encouraging those who have never tried before to take that first step.
